Hot Enough For Us

Summer has arrived and burned hot in all its glory. Mostly we try to keep inside these days since the scorching sun and dreadful humidity is no picnic. This is the time of year where soaking in a swimming pool filled with cool water is perhaps the finest outdoor activity. I already get no pleasure in doing lawn work and the summer heat pretty much chases away any pipe dream my wife might have for a well manicured lawn. Splashing in the pool

I guess one bad thing that turned good this summer was when our house A/C blew up after 10 or 12 years of heavy use. Of course no one wants their A/C to go out, but the new unit we purchased is efficient enough that it can keep up with a 98 degree summer day. Our old system was nearly useless at those high temperatures. Unfortunately even the new system can’t keep up with my wife’s “personal summer” cycles… but we’re closer to it than ever before.

Vacation in Minnesota was a wonderful time spent with the Arkansas Wheadons. Jodi and Rebekah made a Washington D.C. visit for touring with friends. Day trips with the Saddler grandparents and a great VBS at church rounded out a great summer. Now school has started and everyone is back into the swing of the regular routines that represent our nearly ending summer.

Maybe we won’t skip fall like we did spring.
